This beautiful Shepherd Runabout truly is one of ‘Yesterday’s Finest’ mahogany wood vessel ever built. Designed and constructed to meet the highest quality standards
Lloyd Henry Shepherd and his son Howard Henry Shepherd founded Shepherd Boat Works in 1928 in St. Catharine’s. In 1939 they opened the plant at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario with few boats ever crossing the border. Shepherd boats were As one of the first pioneers of the “V” drive Shepherd discovered that by implementing the new “V” drive in it’s runabout and mounting the engine further back it created more room in the cockpit.
It is powered with the popular and original Chrysler “Crown” Marine Engine. With a 6 cylinders in line flat head, twin Zenith S639B carburetors, original 12 volt electrical system. The exhaust is a straight pipe which develops a most seductive and powerful rumble.

Shepherd boats were well known for their strong construction and ability to handle rough water conditions, significant bow flare, tall hullsides, and a wide beam. Shepherd boats are regarded to be one of the best comfortable family cruising entertaining boats with ample room for passengers and an open cockpit configuration with engines in the stern.
She features a custom interior, original wheel and gauges that add a unique flair. The hull is very sound, the upholstery is excellent and the chrome is in great shape.
The boat is in very good condition and has been kept boathouse stored when not in the water. Shepherd boats are very popular for their build quality, high freeboard, and comfortable ride.
Comes with a custom made tandem axle trailer.
